Just came back from IGF Bali, Indonesia, and would like to share: ICANN President and CEO Fadi Chehadé Speaks At The Opening of the Bali IGF

ICANN’s vision is: “one world, one Internet”. StratML's vision is highly complementary: "a world wide web of intentions, stakeholders, and results." Whereas IANA and DNS are about connecting computers, StratML is about enabling computers to connect *people* with shared values and common objectives. Use namecoin for name resolution. Reasons: * it's 100% compatible with current web browsers: users just won't be connected to namecoin directly but to a DNS<>namecoin proxy. * It's tamper and censorship resistant. ICANN should identify documend management proceedures. This could rande is from the simplest form of rules and standards to be used by staff and community for document naming, of different editions and drafts. Multiple perssons are working from existing document of blank starts and mutliply drafts need to be merged. A convention for coument naming pluc a methology for combining content. I notice an overlap between this group and the work of ICANN Labs. this group should request a list of projects that have been submitted or are on the wish list of ICANN Labs

Academics have been fooling around with this for years. Heck, our very own Bret Faucett set up an "ICANN Island" in Second Life almost 10 years ago. It wasn't good/stable enough back then. But maybe it's time to try again. A useful tool which can easily be implemented would be an App that would explain the Acronyms used by the ICANN community. At the moment there are three places where you can look ICANN acronyms up and these are: the Andalucia.com website, gnso.icann.org and icann.org. My suggestion would be to create an application available on both Android and IOS, that would put together the three previously mentioned databases. ...more »
